We brought Cinnamon home from her foster mom on March 10. She’s been getting used to her new momma LauraRose, her new dad Maynard and her new sister Boston terrier Sophie. We would like to thank everyone at Wags & Whiskers, including Tiffany, Sabrina who came here for our home visit and also Connie the foster mom.
“I first adopted one kitty from Wags and Whiskers after getting the name from the folks at Armsen Arms. I went to visit the kitty at the foster mom’s place, Betsy, who was fantastic about letting me come over to look at the kitties, and I wound up adopting not one, but TWO kitties that were litter mates. I never looked back – it was such a great decision. My two kitties, Harriet and Koda, are good company for each other and they give me more love and companionship that I could ever have hoped for! Wags and Whiskers was excellent to deal with and I’m so happy with my adoption!!”
Thanks!! I’m so enjoying my “kids”!!
Sloan’s been with us for 2 weeks now! She’s adapting quickly. She used to bark incessantly for about 20 minutes when seeing a new person or dog. Now she’s becoming more trusting and less uneasy. She had her first play date a week ago, and she had the biggest smile! She met two new friends today and had a ball tearing up the yard! She’s so glad to have the neighbor dogs as friends! Her special job is watching the neighborhood, either through the front window (if she’s inside) or through the gap in the fence (if she’s outside)
As a family we had some specific criteria we were hoping to find in the member we added to our crazy, busy mix and we are excited to say that Lancelot has been the perfect fit! We had a lot of help from Wags and Whiskers during the process of our adoption. The foster was willing to provide many details about Lance and his personality and behaviors over the phone and we were then able to meet him in person. We brought our 3 year old and they instantly had a bond. Let’s just say it was true love! We decided to move forward with the adoption and about a week later we brought him home. He has been very successful in remaining house trained and is wonderful with our kids. He is busy on walks, spending time in our backyard with us and the kids and even has been enjoying spending some time sunning on our front porch. We are so happy with our decision to adopt and so happy we were able to provide Lance with the home in which he seems to be loving. Thank you to everyone that helped us with the adoption process!
Here’s a picture of Watson as the self-appointed community watch dog! Needless to say I do believe he is thriving – getting plenty of love and attention, trips to the dog park, walks around the lake, doggy day camp and car rides. He is even in his 4th week of obedience training and he aced the down hand signal because we practiced!
Angel is doing great! She is potty trained already and knows sit, lay down, circles, stay (well sometimes), and shake. She is still working on her chewing but Nitara was right, she definitely does have a nice mix of puppy playfulness and calm. She is such a sweetie to cuddle up with! We have all been enjoying our daily walks and hope to be joining a puppy obedience class soon.
We adopted Lucy (formerly Penny) Memorial Day weekend. She has been a wonderful addition to the family. The kids love to play with her and she loves to play with them. She also likes to try to eat their toys now and then. We bought her some of her own toys and she loves chewing and playing with them. Lucy loves going for walks and being outside. She has made herself right at home and loves to cuddle with us. It’s such a rewarding feeling knowing that we saved her and opened up another spot for a foster dog. We really feel lucky to have Lucy. She is such a good dog!
Molly (Paris) fit in with the family almost immediately! She is full of such love and wants only to please. Being a puppy, Molly is full of energy but she listens well and is learning do obey when you tell her to do something. Molly is great to have around and we are happy we decided to adopt her.
Honey (now known as Stella) is settling in wonderfully! Seriously, she is the sweetest dog ever! Her Foster Mom, Ari, did such a wonderful job of preparing her for her forever home. Stella came to us with a good set of manners and great kid/dog socialization. Stella actually starts canine school this week to refine her awesome skills even more!
Stella has made herself at home and both our daughters (3 and 2) have officially adopted her as one of their babies. Stella doesn’t mind because usually this means extra attention! Paco (our 8 year old Chihuahua mix) is not a fast friend, but over the past month he’s slowly been warming up to her. He likes to ignore her most of the time, except when they go on walks and then they are BFF’s J
Mostly, Stella is the biggest cuddler ever! As you can see by these two photo’s – whether it’s in the rocking chair of our daughter’s room, or trying to stuff herself into Paco’s cat bed, she’s just a little love bug.
Thank you so much for bringing Stella into our lives. Stella has already become an irreplaceable member of our family. We love her so much! It’s strange having a “puppy” in our house again. We joke that she’s our 3rd toddler with all her energy.
